Cosy, Countryside Bed and Breakfast near Whitby
Yorkshire is well known for friendly hospitality - and Whitby's certainly an excellent example of that. From the small bed and breakfasts, like Rowan Tree House, to the cafes, restaurants, bars, and larger hotels Whitby is full to bursting with friendly, comfortable and high quality accommodation along with an excellent choice of places to eat and drink.

Convenient Location for Town and Country
While we may not be the best choice for those looking for a bed and breakfast within an easy walk of Whitby's town centre amenities, for those who prefer the countryside and want easier access to the Esk Valley and surrounding villages, Sleights makes a great base.
Sleights is situated on the A169 - the direct route from York, via Pickering, to Whitby and the Yorkshire coast - which makes it a great location. If you haven't already, have a look at our post all about Sleights and find out exactly what is on our doorstep.
Commitment to Comfort and Quality
It has always been our intention to provide quality accommodation and a friendly atmosphere at an affordable price. Our rooms are comfortably furnished and our new en-suite facilities have been a real hit with both returning guests and those staying at Rowan Tree House for the first time.
We aim to be as flexible as possible with regard to arrival times and breakfasts - which are all home-cooked to order by Dee. And we always invite our guests to make use of our lounge complete with surround sound TV and comfy sofas!
Local Knowledge - Your Personal 'Tourist Information'
With the future of Whitby's Tourist Information Centre in the balance, it's all the more important that your accommodation provider be able to provide relevant and useful information about local attractions and events.
At Rowan Tree House we keep a well-stocked selection of brochures and leaflets for all kinds of attractions in the local area. But we've also lived in the Whitby area for so long we've a wealth of local knowledge, so feel free to ask us for personal suggestions and recommendations.
